With the change in temperature and tree colors every fall, we welcome harvest time in Indiana.
Hoosier roads, especially in rural areas, become busy with farm machinery and trucks. Unfortunately, there is also an increase in the number of collisions between farm equipment and other vehicles. Keep these things in mind to ensure you, your family and Hoosier farmers are safe:
- Orange and red reflective triangles warn of slow-moving vehicles
- Allow a safe distance behind farm equipment
- Take notice when passing farm equipment
- Slow down when you encounter farm equipment
This fall and all year, be aware of your surroundings and if you encounter farm equipment or machinery, be patient and be courteous. Let’s work together to keep all Hoosiers safe on the roads this harvest season. Source: Indiana Rural Safety & Health Council
