Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance announces retirement, promotion

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance announces the retirement of Jim Baker, agency manager of Vigo, Fountain, Montgomery, Parke and Vermillion County offices on December 31, 2024. Ron Hamby will be promoted to replace Baker effective January 1, 2025. 

 

Baker joined Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance as an agency manager in 2015. During his tenure, he has earned 15 of the company’s top sales honors. 

 

He and his wife, Sherri, have two children and three grandchildren and look forward to what the next chapter has in store for them.   

 

Hamby previously was the direct sales advisor for the company’s 32 most-southern counties of Indiana. Having been with the company since 2012, Hamby shared that he is excited to be “joining a great team and looking forward to what we can accomplish together.” 

 

Originally from New Castle, Hamby and his family will be moving to Crawfordsville. His wife, Meda, and their kids enjoy golfing, traveling, and hunting.  

 

“Jim’s retirement marks the end of an exceptional career,” said Jeff Huelson, executive director of sales, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance. “We look forward to welcoming Ron Hamby as he steps into Jim’s role and joins our talented Vigo-Fountain-Montgomery-Parke-Vermillion agency team.”
